Project description:

As part of the Economic Resilience Initiative’s Infrastructure Technical Assistance programme (ERI‑ITA), DVOKUT‑ECRO supported the development of the Vlašić Wind Farm in Bosnia and Herzegovina by helping ensure that renewable energy infrastructure is planned in a way that respects and protects biodiversity.

The planned wind farm includes 18 wind turbines (2.5 MW each), together with new access roads and associated energy infrastructure, for a total installed capacity of up to 45 MW. The project also includes a transmission line of approximately 8 km, connecting the wind farm to the wider power system.

DVOKUT‑ECRO’s role focused on environmental and biodiversity safeguards, preparing key documents that help identify sensitive habitats and species, define good‑practice mitigation measures, and ensure transparent communication with stakeholders. Our team contributed to the preparation of:

  • Inception Report

  • Legal and Regulatory Framework Gap Analysis

  • Critical Habitat Assessment (desktop assessment)

  • Biodiversity Management Plan (desktop assessment)

  • Stakeholder Engagement Plan

  • Birds and Bats Survey Methodology

All documentation was prepared in line with EIB and KfW standards, supporting robust environmental and social due diligence for this renewable energy investment.
